DEA warns about new synthetic opioid

WVUE - There is a warning from the Drug Enforcement Administration about a new synthetic opioid that's killed at least 15 people across the country.

It's called U4 or U-47700, and according to the Associated Press, two 13-year-old boys in Utah died after overdosing on it.

"There is no medical use for this stuff in the medical profession at all. It is simply a horrible opportunity and a straight shot at death is what it is," said DEA Special Agent-in-Charge of the New Orleans Field Division Stephen Azzam.
